1、工作時(shí)受力不大、形狀簡(jiǎn)單、尺寸較小的模具,可用碳素工具鋼制造。

3、工作時(shí)受力大,要求高耐磨性、高淬透性、變形量小、形狀復(fù)雜的模具,多用高碳高鉻鋼(Crl2、Crl2MoV等)制造。又發(fā)展了幾種Crl2型鋼的代用鋼(如Cr6WV、Cr4W2MoV、Cr2Mn2SiWMoV等),另外,也可選用高速鋼、低碳高速鋼(6W6M05Cr4V等)和基體鋼(化學(xué)成分相當(dāng)于高速鋼正常淬火后的基體成分的鋼)來制造這類模具。

負(fù)荷較小或小批量生產(chǎn)時(shí)使用低合金工具鋼(SKS),負(fù)荷較大或大批量生產(chǎn)時(shí)使用冷作模具鋼(SKD),負(fù)荷更大時(shí)選用高速工具鋼及粉末高速工具鋼。
